- Leach Park Trail - 100 12th St., Bettendorf, IA 52722
If you want a short but beautiful evening walk, try the Leach Park Trail. Located near Bettendorf homes for sale, it's a quarter-mile loop around Leach Park, at the beginning of the longer Bettendorf trail. The paved path is easy to traverse and provides a breathtaking view of the river. There are also picnic shelters nearby, perfect for a romantic evening under the stars.
- Vander Veer Botanical Park Walking Path - 215 W. Central Park Ave., Davenport, IA 52803
For a beautiful walk in nature, head to the Vander Veer Botanical Park Walking Path. The path is just under a mile, around the park, through trees and flowers, around a lagoon for fishing, and past the park's signature stone fountain. Located near Davenport homes for sale, the park is free to enter, though certain sections can also be reserved for private parties. It's open until 30 minutes after sunset, so it's best to go earlier in the evening.
- Ben Butterworth Memorial Parkway - 3000 River Drive, Moline, IL 61265
The Ben Butterworth Memorial Parkway includes over four and a half miles of paved trails, though you don't have to hike the whole thing if you're looking for something shorter/easier. The area includes flower gardens, a memorial patio, and a Little Free Library. If you want to get some exercise, there's also fitness equipment along the way, as well as playground equipment for the kids. Plus two picnic shelters, several fishing areas, a boat launch, and more. Located near Moline homes for sale, the park is open until 11 p.m. daily, so it's a great place for a night hike.
- Ashindel Park - 900 14th St., DeWitt, IA 52742
There are several beautiful areas in Ashindel Park, where you can see a variety of flowers and trees. You can stroll around the park or take the fitness trail to get more of a workout. Located near DeWitt homes for sale, the park is adjacent to the DeWitt Fitness Center and also includes basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, along with a wading pool, playgrounds, and a sitting area.
- Eagle Point Park - 3923 N. 3rd St., Clinton, IA 52732
Eagle Point Park is right on the bluffs and includes several trails, the main one of which is Serpentine Drive. Located near Clinton homes for sale, this nearly two-mile looped trail has a great view of the Mississippi River, as well as several beautiful floral displays and a great stone waterfall. The area also includes multiple stone bridges, one wooden bridge walkway, and even a castle right out of a fairytale, complete with stone tower and spiral staircase. - Mississippi Riverwalk - 600 Bell St., Dubuque, IA 52001
To enjoy beautiful views and beautiful art, head to the Mississippi Riverwalk. Not only does it have a great view of the river, plus beautifully landscaped flowers, but the pathway is also home to a public art exhibit, showcasing pieces from local artists. The exhibit changes annually, so it's worth making a trip out at least once a year, if you live near Dubuque homes for sale. The path is great for hiking or jogging, and you can even bring your pet for a walk.
- Hickory Hill Park - 800 Conklin St., Iowa City, IA 52240
There are many trails to choose from at Hickory Hill Park, so you can come back evening after evening and still have something new to explore. For one thing, the park features both North and South areas, each with its own amenities, as well as limestone, wood chip, and dirt trails. And if you want to bring your dog, there are drinking fountains around the area that include pet bowls.
- Noelridge Park and Greenhouse - 4900 Council St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402
A perfect place for an evening barbecue, Noelridge Park and Greenhouse has grills, horseshoe pits, a splash pad, and more. They also have a great walking trail past their greenhouse, which displays all sorts of beautiful, tropical plants. Located near Cedar Rapids homes for sale, in the daytime, you can schedule a guided tour, but in the evening, feel free to explore on your own.
- Taylor Park Trail - 1803 Angle St., Muscatine, IA 52761
Great for a short walk with the family, the Taylor Park Trail is a quarter-mile paved path running from Bond Street to Evans Street, near Muscatine homes for sale. There are picnic and play areas, along with soccer fields and more. But in the evenings, it's the perfect place for a walk, jog, or bike ride.
- Crapo Park - 2800 Madison Ave., Burlington, IA 52601

The 85-acre area includes several botanical gardens full of annuals and perennials, and an arboretum with over 200 varieties of trees and shrubs. There are also views of Lake Starker and Foehlinger Fountain, and if you're adventurous, you can explore Black Hawk Cave. Plus, if you go on a Sunday evening, there are also concerts by a variety of bands and artists playing weekly throughout the summer until August 10th.
