November Small Businesses of the Month
Small businesses are the heart of our communities! Here at Ruhl&Ruhl, we love to support locals and engage with the areas we serve in any way we can. So, let's help them out and spread the word about their great services!
Below are this month's featured businesses in all of our areas:
Bettendorf/Davenport: Coffee House is nestled in the Village of East Davenport with indoor and outdoor seating, coffee flights, and a new selection of wonderful beer and wine. They also serve lotus teas, smoothies, and food, such as bagels, cookies, muffins, banana bread, and more! Aside from their tasty menu, the Coffee House has private room rentals and hosts trivia night every Thursday. Burlington: The Drake, situated on the riverfront in downtown Burlington, is a restaurant with a rich history dating back a century. Their fine wine selection and wood-fired grill provide the perfect upscale but casual, one-of-a-kind dining experience. The restaurant also has a 100-seat patio with views up and down the Mississippi River from nearly every seat! In addition, The Drake can accommodate your next private party in a relaxed corner bar environment with a personal bartender and wait staff.
Cedar Rapids: SCOUT of Marion is the perfect lifestyle gift boutique located in Uptown Marion, Iowa. They offer a curated selection of high-quality gifts that include home goods, personal care, pantry staples, kid items, and pet items—something for everyone! Their free, luxury gift wrap, customized gift narratives, and private appointment options all make for exceptional customer service at SCOUT. And the best part? Clinton/DeWitt: Holly's Dogs is a small, family-run business in downtown Clinton that offers unique and fun hot dogs. They are a full service drive-thru and carryout restaurant with more than just hot dogs on their menu. They also have tacos, wraps, salads, pork tenderloin sandwiches, and daily specials! Next time you go, don't forget to order ahead so you can skip the lines.
Dubuque: Knockout Melts is the place to go when you want that food truck-feeling, but inside a restaurant. Their mouthwatering melt-style sandwiches, homemade soups, and mac n cheese will surely have you coming back for thirds! Knockout Melts also offers online ordering for carryout or delivery via DoorDash. What more is there to ask for?
Iowa City: Teamo Tea, located in the heart of Downtown Iowa City, is an authentic bubble tea shop that offers a variety of milk teas, plain teas, tea lattes, ice cream tea, and smoothies. Moline: Dead Poet's Espresso is a local, poet-inspired coffee shop in Moline, Illinois. Their menu has "drinks of the poets" and a featured drink each month, along with a regular drink menu and delicious food items. They always have something exciting going on or a daily special; be sure to follow their Facebook page so you don't miss out on a fun time and good conversations!
Muscatine: Missipi Brewing Company—great Mississippi River views, amazing food, and cold drinks with friends. Do we have your attention yet? Missipi Brew also hosts bingo nights and has live music weekly! Here, you can enjoy their burgers, wings, and other pub grub served in a modest space with beer on tap and outdoor seating. If you don't have time to stay, don't worry, you can order curbside pick-up as well!
