There is no way you live in the Quad Cities and you haven't heard of The Bix 7, even if you aren't a runner. And that's because this race consumes the city of Davenport all weekend long with fun activities for all! But back to the race. The course for this 7-mile race begins at the steep and long Brady Street Hill. After you conquer the hill racers fly through the historic McClellan Heights neighborhood which is also a bit hilly in its own right! If not the type who wants to run a race, come cheer on those who are battling it out for their age groups, or just out to have a good time! There is also a 2-mile race called the Quick Bix that is a great alternative to the full race. For those who are really in for a challenge, you should look into signing up for the Brady Street Sprints, the name says it all.

Festival of Trees will be the event that gets you in the holiday spirit! Beginning at the end of November this event features a lot of different activities for all age groups throughout the month. Don't miss out on the Holiday Parade which features floats from local businesses, the local community, and school bands and dance teams, and of course huge helium balloons! Also, a favorite event included in the Festival of Trees is the SugarPlum Ball and Celebrity Lunch.

Another festive event that brings out a large crowd is the city's St Patricks Day Parade. Come dressed in your green attire to support those who participate in The Grand Parade. Stay for the Post Parade Bash if you are looking to keep the celebrations going!

Beaux Arts Fair is Downtown Davenport's premier art festival! The fair began in 1967 and has grown to be one of the "longest running art fairs in the Midwest!" There is a Spring fair and a Fall fair. The Spring fair is the larger of the two and includes 135 booths featuring beautiful art, exciting foods, and lively music. Held at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds there is room to roam and enjoy the various crafts and art provided by the vendors. All proceeds from the fair to go the Figge Art Museum so they can continue to offer and enhance their programs and exhibitions. Calling all music lovers - Live @ 5 is a summer event for you! Every Friday at 5:00 June - September come to the River Music Experience to enjoy music of all kinds, and to start your weekend off right!

Catch a River Bandits game at Modern Woodman Park. This stadium located in Downtown Davenport juts right up to the Mississippi. One of the only fields to do so in the country! There is more to do than just baseball, there is a kid zone with inflatables and even mini roller coasters and a carousel!

The Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra holds three Pops Concerts throughout the year. The Pops Concert Series is held on the Riverfront and often is set to bands that rock! Previously there have been Pops Concerts featuring the Rolling Stones and Elton John.

Are you the proud owner of a kayak or canoe? If so, you can participate in the River Action's annual paddle event on the Mississippi, Floatzilla! Paddlers launch from different parts of the river and begin drifting down the Mississippi and end at Lake Potter in Rock Island.

The Lagomarcino Cocoa Bean 5k/10k is another favorite race but this one is in the fall, right before (normally) the weather turns. Participants for both the 5k and the 10k race get a fleece jacket and chocolate!

Come watch as hot air balloons float in the sky at the Quad Cities Balloon Festival. The Festival begins on Friday night and ends with a Dusk Balloon Glow on Saturday evening. Day activities include food vendors, bounce houses, a car show, and of course the balloon launch!
