Welcome to Clinton, Iowa the city once known as the 'Lumber Capital of the World. Here you'll find attractions that highlight the town's past like the Saw Mill Museum and The LumberKings baseball team. In addition to these fun events, Clinton is full of fairs and festivals that bring out its history and ties to the Mississippi River. Finally Fridays at the River is a summer concert series occurring once a month at the Riverview band shell. They're fun, free, community-oriented musical events that the whole family will enjoy.
Lyons Art and Craft Show is an annual event held in the historic Lyons neighborhood at Lyons Foursquare Park. Come for the arts and crafts but also come to enjoy bumper cars, chalk art contests, food trucks, and a car/motorcycle show. Lyon's Business and Professionals Association holds a well-loved and attended Burger Cook-off. Both events are a must!
Christmas is even more beautiful when you visit the Symphony of Lights at Eagle Point Park. With over 40 lighted displays throughout a 1.1-mile loop, it's a picturesque way to get out and enjoy the season.
Riverboat Play Theater is truly a unique treat you can't find elsewhere in Iowa. This actual riverboat referred to as "The Omar" was not always located in Iowa. It would cruise the Ohio River and resided for a number of years in West Virginia before retiring in Clinton. Now, a renovated but artfully restored showboat, the theatre hosts many shows throughout the year that provide an experience unlike any other.
Given the area is well known for its logging past, where else to have a Saw Mill Museum than Clinton? Visit to learn about how Clinton and surrounding areas played a role in the country's expansion into the West and also see original tools and machinery taking back to the 1800s.
Pack up the family, and make sure to grab a few lawn chairs to enjoy the local bands will at Music on the Avenue.
Clinton is surrounded by breath-taking scenery which draws Clinton residents out to explore the area. Some favorites include Eagle Point Park and Lodge, with views of the Mississippi River, Castle Playgrounds, and picnic shelters.

Across the river in Fulton, you can attend the Dutch Days Festival. Dutch Days was started back in 1974 and had grown into a local favorite event that many people look forward to all year. The festival includes beautiful Dutch folk art, traditional food and attire, and Klompen dancers!
While in Fulton and celebrating the history, stop by the Wierenga's Heritage Canyon, an attraction that is guaranteed to make you feel as if you've gone back in time! A wooded structure sits on 12-acres and includes a nature trail lined with even more historic buildings.
Clinton's July 4th Weekend is filled to the brim with fun events. On the 4th, the day starts bright and early with a volleyball tournament with a car show, carnival, parade, live music great food, and ending the evening is a LumberKings game and fireworks!
Whether you love to run, swim or catch a baseball game, you can do all this in Clinton. Give yourself a challenge and participate in the Clinton half marathon, or sign-up for a shorter race like the 5k.
The public swimming pool, Riverview Pool, is open all summer and is another activity to burn off some energy by swimming laps or cannonballing into the water!
