Mobile Technology has made Life Easier
From calling and texting on the go to getting directions and staying in touch on Facebook - mobile has simplified day to day tasks. Real estate is no different.
mobileRuhl, a real estate app from Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors, provides consumers and agents the capability to have accurate real estate information wherever they go.
"I started using mobileRuhl even before I obtained my license because it is such an easy way to see homes on the market," said Rick Best, a Realtor at the Ruhl&Ruhl Bettendorf Office. "Once I was licensed, mobileRuhl was instrumental to my business."
MobileRuhl allows users in eastern Iowa and western Illinois to search current listings and those homes that have recently sold across 26 counties from their smartphone. In addition, Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors also offers a mobile version of their website, RuhlHomes.com.
"It's a way to strike up a conversation with potential clients," Best said. "I will have mobileRuhl open and ask 'Did you know you can get property information on your smartphone?' Then I show them the app. They are pretty impressed with the ease of viewing properties and will download the app on the spot."
Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors had an average of 750 downloads so far this year. From January 1 st through June 30 th 43% of users engaging with RuhlHomes.com were doing so from a mobile device or tablet. In addition, sessions on mobileRuhl, the app, were up 76% over last year.
"As we near an age where smartphones and tablets are becoming increasingly available and convenient, we can expect usage increases, especially in real estate," said Caroline Ruhl, President of Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors. "Today's mobile users are also mobile shoppers, turning to their device for informative purchase decisions."
GPS search capabilities and property information provide the most up-to-date information. The public and our agents can access a real estate overview of any property or neighborhood. Property details and photos are the tip of the iceberg with mobileRuhl. The number of new listings, recently sold properties and median price range are also available.
"I volunteered to meet with clients with little time to prepare," Best said. "After going through the first home, they asked about another down the street. I immediately went to mobileRuhl to get information about the property. After spending some time there they said 'let's write an offer!' Who knows if I would have had the chance to show them that property [without mobileRuhl]."
